For a couple of years I have admired the Jamie Beckwith Collection from my computer screen. I believe it is one of the most innovative and unique surfacing products I have seen in some time. So one day I contacted them and asked if they would do a presentation for an Independent Designers Forum here in Atlanta.. they were enthusiastic!
Finally I, along with 50 other professionals in the Greater Atlanta area, were able to not only see, but touch feel and learn all about this product. Jamie Beckwith changes, even challenges the way wood is installed in an interior and architectural fashion. There are three lines which I’ve detailed more below: Engima, Mosaic and Projection.
Here is a sampling of the presentation by Kari Vaughn and Lauren Stebbins, who are not only Sales & Marketing gurus but also with hands on manufacturing.
First comes ENIGMA. Single tiles made of engineered wood available in 15 unique patterns and numerous wood species and finishes.
Next comes MOSAIC. Wood blocks used in an end grain fashion for a more traditional look. The intricate patterns and swirls that derive from mosaics are unique as fingerprints.
I held the best (in my book) for last: PROJECTION. A multi-dimensional end-grain block for vertical applications. Delivered in six different depths in either rustic, polished or colored, this line has amazing design possiblities. It is the perfect solution to adding interest (and depth!) to interiors that will beg for a closer inspection!
